Do you vote in political elections?
Short answer: Yes.
But when did I ever write a short answer? I try not to vote along party lines. I try to vote for someone that I believe cares about what the people they represent need to maintain or establish freedoms for all laid out by the Constitution. All the people, not just the ones who voted for them.
It is becoming more difficult to find that kind of political candidate. There are elected officials who believe it is their responsibility to tell their constituents what they should believe and how it will accomplish their rights as an American. Of course, anyone who disagrees with this or has a different idea on how to accomplish it is trying to take your freedom away.
You can be sure this candidate if elected will spend most of their time trying to convince us that compromise is weakness and dangerous. Their energy is spent convincing that their way is not just the best way, but the only way. They spend very little time listening even to their constituents which sometimes means they do not hear sound reasoning.
How do you pick out one of these candidates? You listen carefully to their campaign ads. If it sounds like a commercial touting their superiority over the other brand name, you can be sure that is how they plan to serve – constantly promoting their ideals, not you.
If you think all candidates do this, you’re not listening. That’s understandable since more and more candidates “approve” those messages, but unfortunate. There are still those who speak to the issues and what they hope to do for you and let you decide if that is someone you can trust. Trust them.
