Like a leaf
Freed from its branch
During a thunderstorm
Flying high for moments by
Gusts of wind
Landing independent
On the back
Windshield of
A car traveling
Miles of unknown at
High and low
Speeds
Until freed to
Tumble along
Fields of grass and
Grains and
Floating on waters
Like ponds, rivers, and puddles
Yellow
A refuge for a beetle
A meal for parasites
Scars to show it
Brown
Soaked by another
Rain
On its own
Drifting downstream to a
Sewer
Black
Dark
Humanity is without God

I have the rich life full of a sinner wounded by misunderstanding and punishment but blessed by mercy and forgiveness.
