I think pride keeps me from reaching out to someone when I cannot handle something. I have been bent by a culture that claims a strong man can handle anything. Yet, I do not think someone else weak because they ask me for my help. Maybe the Golden Rule applies to instances when I need help as well.
“A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity.”
Proverbs 17:17 NIV
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”
Matthew 7:7-8 NIV
Could it be that God’s provision comes from seeking out and knocking on a friend’s door and asking for help?
