“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.” (Psalm 32:8 NIV)
What do you want out of life? Do you want fame, fortune, wealth? Are your desires simpler – peace, contentment, love, respect? Maybe you’re like too many people and you really don’t know, but you know you want your life to be better.
What if you could find someone who could lay out the perfect plan for your life and guide you with perfect wisdom – the most awesome life coach of all time?
You would be told that there would be some obstacles and sacrifices, because this physical world is racked with imperfections to which you would not be Immune. You would be promised that your plan includes ways of managing those hard times into opportunities.
All you need to do is trust in the One Who creates the plan loves you enough to instruct you and counsel you. Your spirit would never be broken, but only be made stronger and peace of mind and joy would always win out. You would be an agent of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, and so much more for others.
If that sounds like a life to which you could adjust, it can be yours.
Jesus Christ promised that he would send his Spirit to indwell permanently those who would not only mentally believe, but fully trust their lives in him. His Holy Spirit would become the perfect life coach and help believers find their true purpose. His Spirit would also bolster the believer through whatever challenges this material world can produce. The believer’s spirit partnering with his Spirit would remain strong even if the body is weakened.
The disciples who remained true would be the first to demonstrate this power. These were average men who put their trust in Christ and effected the world with their teaching even to this generation. Their spirits and bodies were tried, but his Spirit strengthened their faith.
I, too, can testify to the power of Christ’s Spirit. Even when I was weak, unfaithful, emotionally drained, Christ’s Spirit stayed true and continued to speak to me. When I heeded, I found the comfort, the peace, and/or the wisdom needed. I believe you can experience that same power.
Jesus promises this to his followers, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”
John 10:10 NIV
What’s holding you back from completely surrendering your life to Christ and living life to the fullest?
